Established over 40 years ago, The Park Group of Hotels is a pioneer in the concept of luxury boutique hotels in India. Achieving global standards of product quality and service excellence, the group has grown in popularity and prestige.

Managed by the Apeejay Surendra Group which is a century old company, The Park Group of Hotels is located in some of the biggest cities around the country.

A likely choice of stay for corporate and leisure travellers from India and abroad, The Park Hotel offers exquisite luxury stay in the heart of cities, giving the guests easy access to the commercial and entertainment hubs around town.

The Brief

The Park Hotels is defined by luxury, lavish interiors and offers exclusive services to the guests. A member of the Design Hotels™, The Park Hotels, has a niche boutique identity of its own.

A similar experience was to be translated to its website, an urbane design that iterates exclusive services offered by the hotel with information seamlessly aligned to the layouts as per design aesthetics. The website had to have a unique identity of its own, with a very strong emphasis on contemporary design that stylistically enhances every feature at The Park and makes it a truly cutting-edge international experience.

The Park Hotels wanted an automated system that gave utmost flexibility to control and manage any element of the website and thereby eliminate dependence on external resource.

The Approach

It was clear at the onset of the project that its a design based website, hence the main objective was seamless integration of stylistic layouts on a dynamic platform, and also, to take care of the flexibility and make website modifiable. This meant all the properties were to have an exclusive and dedicated sub-sites within the main website of The Park Hotel, which comes to 10 dedicated micro-sites within the website, with the functionality to add onto that number!

HGS Interactive proposed to develop a platform for the main corporate site and subsequently, create a sub level in it that system to addresses the requirement of populating property micro-sites.

The Content Management System (CMS) of the website had to be tailored and customised as per the requirement of The Park Hotels. Hence, the Front End & Customised CMS were developed using PHP/MYSQL.

The Solution

• A customised CMS was developed for The Park Hotels using PHP and MYSQL.
• The CMS enabled website administrator to update/add/delete the design, content, colour, properties, sections, offers, etc., for the main site and any property in the website.
• The CMS designed for park has a spectrum of featured modules to present the content on the web for each of the The Park Hotels located in and around the country.
• The admin section interface has an intuitive, easy to follow architecture. Using this CMS, the website administrator can update each property detail on the website, as well as, create a new property easily. Thereby, reducing client's resource allocation on a new property section development.
• The website maintenance is completely automated as module for each & every section is developed to keep it updated in real time with constant content feeds.
• Taking business beyond boundaries, the integration of RezTrip 2.0 Booking Engine within the website enables visitors to check availability of the hotel room & book reservations in real time.
• Keeping up with functionality of content modifiability, provision to add Meta Key and Meta Description was included in CMS to optimise search engine rankings, every time there is an update or addition.
• The website gave admin the complete flexibility to change/edit/remove any element of the website on requirement.
• Offers & Events are developed as a separate module and the design can be placed & linked anywhere within the corporate and property section to make the site more dynamic.
• Using jQuery the menus were optimised to glide effortlessly and point to the information required by user.
• Stylised photo galleries, developed in Flash Action scripting, features in all sections of the website and adds a dash of sophisticated charm to it.
• Each section in the website is balanced exquisitely well to enhance every feature at The Park Hotels and makes it a truly cutting-edge international experience.

 

The Result

The customised CMS developed by HGS Interactive enabled The Park Hotels to manage the website without external resources and update the website in real time.

Optimised search resulted in better ranking on popular search engines and drove traffic to the website. Booking Engine integration and its strategic placement on every page led to an increase in the number of online reservations. Sophisticated designs spelled the essence of The Park Hotels, and the website was able to translate The Park experience online with suave and smooth graphics powered by cutting edge technology.
